Perfect Day, Lou Reed

Just a perfect day,
Problems all left alone,
Weekenders on our own.
It's such fun.
Just a perfect day,
You made me forget myself.
I thought I was someone else,
Someone good.

Oh it's such a perfect day,
I'm glad I spent it with you.
Oh such a perfect day,
You just keep me hanging on,
You just keep me hanging on.

You're going to reap just what you sow,
You're going to reap just what you sow,
You're going to reap just what you sow,
You're going to reap just what you sow...

(Album: Transformer (1972))

Lou Reed, former frontman for The Velvet Underground, writes from experience. Often dark and eery, sarcastic or self-deprecating, he has explored sex and drugs like few other songwriters. As a guitarist, he is a pioneer -- one of the godfathers of distortion, high volume feedback, and nonstandard tunings.

And when I'm not listening to beats from him, him, him or them, I rarely listen to hip hop at all. I listen to Lou motherf*ckin Reed.

Buy his music. Support a legend.
