MTV Celebrates 30 Years of Rock and Roll. Music Network was launched on August 1, 1981

It was just 30 years ago, on August 1, 1981 at 12:01 a.m. when Music Television was launched.  It changed the entire music industry making it the norm to have a music video if your perform.  One of the very first videos played was the song, Video Kills and the rest is history.
