Buddy Holly Gets Star on "Hollywood Walk of Fame:" Singer would have been 75 year old

Buddy Holly was born Charles Hardin Holly and was later nicknamed Buddy.  He was born on September 7, 1936 in Lubbock, Texas.  He is know for writing and singing the songs; Peggy Sue, That 'll Be the Day, Every Day and man other hit songs. He died in 1955 in a plane crash in Mason City , Minnesota. Singer Ritchie Valens and Dr. Bop were with him and also died.  Rolling Stone had rated Buddy Holly as number 13 in the top 50 artists of all time.

Gary Busey was nominated for an Academy award in 1978 for his role of Buddy Holly in the film, The Buddy Holly Story.
